Oh no with lyrics

 Today I decided to create a video with a song and the lyrics to it. I enjoyed putting in the lyrics because you had to listen very closely to the song to hear them. I found it difficult to get the song because I could not download it from you-tube. Next time I would change the background and the font of the writing.

March reflection

Today I was making a reflection for March. I enjoyed putting in my golden line because I like the word I used in it. I found it difficult to put in my math accomplishments because it is hard to recall some things that I done well on this past month. My digital learning objective shows that I can reflect on March using google drawings. Next time I would change the background.

Easter video

 For reading and writing we were learning to summarise and retell the story of Easter . To retell the story we colored in pictures of the event and put them on ice block sticks to make them puppets. After we had done that we made a video with us saying the story whilst acting it out with the homemade puppets. I enjoyed making the puppets because it involves a bit of creativity. I found it difficult to find how to make the video without me in the screen but with a little trial and error I was able to find a way. Next time I would change the color of the paper I used.

Te Kuri a Paoa

 For art this week we were making Te Kuri a Paoa, which stands for "Paoa's dog". When Paoa and Kiwa arrived in Turanganui-a-kiwa Young nicks head look like Paoa's dog, there for it got given the name Te Kuri a Paoa. I enjoyed making the wevideo, a site where you can create videos out of pictures and videos. I found it challenging to create the art because it took a lot of time and effort. My digital learning objective shows that I can use wevideo to create videos. Next time I would change the background of my video.

Comic strip on Holy week

 For this weeks homework we had to make a comic strip about holy week. I enjoyed putting in the speech bubbles for my characters. I found it challenging to find some images that I wanted. My digital learning objective shows that I can retell the events of holy week. Next time I would change the background.

My illusion

 Today for reading our task was to create an illusion with slides. To do this we had to use pictures from online or draw our characters. I enjoyed making my illusion because I like working online with google slides. I found it challenging to come up with an idea for my illusion because my brain was thinking about other things. My digital learning objective shows that I can create an illusion with google slide. Next time I would change the color of the box.

My favourite sport

 Today with Mrs Torrie we were learning how to use mote and what its uses were. I enjoyed recording with mote because my microphone never worked and using it was really enjoyable for me. I found it challenging to describe my favorite sport because there are like a million words to describe football. My digital learning objective show that I can use mote. Next time I would change my photo on my second slide because it is pretty basic for a football photo.

Term's goals

 Today we were setting our goals for this term. By doing this we can look to see and do all of my goals. This year we have 5 learning heroes and the 5 of them are:

I enjoyed putting in my name in a funky font because I like being creative with fonts. I found it hard to find a subject that I needed to improve but then I realised that there was a lot I could improve in math. My digital learning objective shows that I can use slides to set my goals. Next time I would change the font of my goals.

My favorite clothing

This week we were learning how to use metaphors during writing. I enjoyed writing my work onto cava, a site where you can publish writing in multiple ways. I found it challenging to find a Tottenham shit on google because my one was from 2015. My digital learning objective shows that I can use canva and publish it onto my blog. Next time I would change the color of my background because it does not suit my writing.

Sea Week homework

 This week fr homework we had to choose an sea creature to do a poster on. I chose the megalodon because I love prehistoric sea animals. I enjoyed making the poster because I like designing this online. I found finding facts hard because finding facts about an animal that no longer exists. My digital learning objective shoes that I can create a poster displaying facts. Next time I would change the font.  

February reflection

 This week we were reflecting over the past month. For this task we had to fill in a poster over February and fill in the boxes. I enjoyed filling in the boxes because you put in your favorite activities for the month. I found it challenging to find our monthly points because we did not know at the time but after a while it came back to me. Next time i would change the background.

Plastic facts

 This week we were making a gif including facts about pollution in our oceans. We were learning how to make connections between what we read. I enjoyed reading the articles about the plastic in our oceans. I found finding pictures hard because you need some that express the message that plastic should be extinct. My digital learning objective shows that I can create a gif using tall tweets.

My favorite toy

This week we for writing we were making a poster to represent our favorite toy. To do this we had to use canva, a site were you can create posters and book and, actually this will take to long in short you can create a lot. I enjoyed posting my writing onto canva because there are a lot of pictures, fonts and sizes for your writing. I found it challenging to publish it at the same time because it is hard when you first start off. Next time I would change the background but I like what I have anyway.

 

Math graph

This week we were making a chart on a subject that we chose. I chose chip flavours because there is such a wide selection of them. I enjoyed making and customising  my chart. I found it hard to put the information in the correct way. My digital learning objective shows I know how to make a chart. Next time I would change the chart as it is simple and boring.

Crime scene

 

This week we had to solve a crime scene as a task. We had to read what had happened and use clues to solve the case. I enjoyed solving the crime because it was all about teamwork and skill. I found it challenging to fill in the information in my own words. next time I would change how I described what the people were doing.

What is a prayer?

 

For this weeks homework we had to explain what a prayer was. I enjoyed putting the pictures up because their is such a wide selection of photos to choose from. I found it challenging to put the information the I wanted it to be. Next time I would change the font of my writing because it is pretty plain and simple.

Lenten promise

 

This week we were doing a lent poster for what we would do and give up. I decided to give up chocolate and lollies for the full 40 days of lent. I chose the thing I did because I knew that they are bad for you as well as rot your teeth. Lent is the 40 days that Jesus spent in the desert. During his time there he was tempted to to what Satan said but he refused no matter what.

Handwriting experiment.

This week I was learning about my handwriting and how everyone's is different. I enjoyed doing the experiment with people in my class. I found it challenging to express my information. Next time I would change the font or the background.

Chinese new year research

For this weeks homework we had to explain what the chinese new year was and talk about what animal in the chinese zodiac we were. I enjoyed putting information into the poster. I found it challenging to fit every thing in the space I had. Next time I would change te font of most of it because it doesn't contrast very well.

Chinese New Year

 

This week for our reading task we done a poster for the chinese new year. In the poster we had to include 3-6 facts about the traditions of the festival with a nice font and some pictures. I enjoyed gathering the data to fill in the poster. I found it challenging to put all the facts in my own words. Next time I would change the size of the font because I didn't have much room for pictures.

My name is Aedan I am a Year 6 at Saint Mary's school. I live with my Mum, Dad and dog, Winston. I like football, cricket and tennis. I am English but I have Irish and Scottish family.

At school I enjoy connecting with friends and learning. My main goal for this year is to learn how to multiply fractions.

I’m looking forward to moving to Wellington with my family this year and a new adventure awaits me there with more things to see and do. An achievement for me this year is making friends in the 2 years I have been in NZ. I enjoy posting on my blog so people around the world can learn more.

Cawa of care

 

This week for reading we done a kawa of care poster using any tool we wanted. I chose slides because it is really convenient for if you run out of space. I used a website called tall tweets to make a gif of the slides. I'm really glad that the speech bubbles set the scene as if people were really talking about it. Next time I would change the contrast of some of the images.
